The Present Perfect tense is perhaps the most difficult past tense to learn for foreign students. Practice with some online exercises and do them as many times as possible until you think you’ve comprehended the different rules:

    On a similar note,, G.B. Shaw’s famous quip that England and America are two countries separated by a common language seems to be as true today as ever. This becomes even more evident for people who have business connections (or connexions, if you prefer) in the UK or with people who learned UK English.

    • I think we have a lot more in common now than when that quip was uttered thanks to music, TV, books, the internet, etc….and now the Queen’s 60th Diamond Jubilee which brought a lot of us back together again!! Hip Hip Hooray!
