Cool sites for teachers 2011 Reply

The explosion of sites for teachers leaves no excuse for not adding internet  technology to your classroom experience. Here are some of my latest favorites:                        Loudlit.org     This site allows students to practice their pronunciation while reading classical English literature collected by the Gutenberg Project:

Another great site for pronunciation: Rhymezone               Just enter a word and click on “Go Get It”.A list of words will then appear that rhyme with the word entered. I entered the word ‘crazy’: Crazy isn’t it?         What about a site for helping students write better? Check this one out: www.writingfun.com  You can click on e-mail and get help with basic construction and phrases or persuasion techniques for writing an essay. This a great place to start writing in English for children and adults alike:       Timetoast is a great site for putting together timelines whether for history or for verb conjugations.

Storybird is an excellent site for practicing storytelling for children and adults. They provide the storyboard and students write the story. For teachers wanting to create instructional videos, try JING. You can create an online video and record a commentary then post it to your website or course management system.  See you online!
